Dell has launched 4 new laptops in the Vostro 3000 series. The notebooks called Vostro 3300, 3400, 3500 and 3700 are available with Core i3 and i5 processors. A quad core Core i7 processor is also offered with the 17 inch Vostro 3700.The Vostro 3000 series has notebooks with 13, 14, 15 and 17 inch displays. All machines are available in red, silver and bronze.
The 13 inch Vostro 3300 which starts at $699 is one of the thinnest 13 inch notebooks on the market. It also sports an optical drive. The 14 inch Vostro 3400 is available with an optional 9-cell battery and claims to offer up to 8 hours of run time. While the Vostro 3300, 3400 and 3500 are available with NVIDIA GeForce 310M 512MB discrete GPU, the Vostro 3700 can be configured with an optional Nvidia Geforce GT 330M 1GB card. Up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500 GB of hard drive are available. Thenotebooks are now available for purchase in the US and parts of Asia.

The HP ProBook 4420s, Hewlett-Packard’s latest 14-inch business-class notebook, is now available.

Dell Japan has started selling a Linux version of its Inspiron Mini 10 netbook. Much like the version running Windows, the Linux model also has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and GMA 3150 graphics. Other specifications include a 160GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n.
Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad X201s ultraportable laptop, featuring a 12.1-inch display, the Intel Core i7 processor, and a starting weight of 2.51 pounds.
